Video Authenticity Analysis and Analysis of Video Events

Video Authenticity Analysis

When the authenticity or integrity of a forensic video recording is in question, our analysts conduct detailed forensic analysis to determine if material has been deleted, added, altered or changed in video analog or video digital recordings.

As with audio tapes, VCR’s have an erase head and a record/play head. Both leave a magnetic signature on the tape when it is started, paused or stopped. When viewing the tape you see only the picture. Using our forensic technology to conduct detailed analysis, we can determine if a video tape has been altered or edited and if it is an original or a copy.

Analysis of Video Events

Forensic video recordings are most often relating to some aspect of an incident or crime that occurred or is alleged to have occurred. There are times when detailed analysis of what occurred is very important. This is a service our forensic analysts provide. We can often determine the exact actions of suspect committing a crime or while at a crime scene.

There are other instances where information may need to be obtained forensically from both audio and video recordings. One example would be the need to determine the number of gunshots rapidly fired in a recording. Another is to determine the timing or sequence of events that occur on the recording. All of these can be determined through forensic computer analysis, and exhibits can be prepared that shows the results of the analysis.

As experienced expert analysts, our highly trained and qualified forensics team uses top of the line hardware and software technology to carefully handle and thoroughly analyze your evidence audio, video, and photographic media. We can isolate, separate, enhance, and authenticate all relevant aspects of audio and video recordings in order to produce expert evidence backed by many years of master experience. As an expert witness in the courtroom, our testimony from the witness stand will contain provable facts and relevant demonstrative evidence that can often make or break a case.
